Jan 13, 2017 Solved: Can anyone please advise what the silent switch is now to install adobe reader dc 15.023 for the exe as I cant find any msi installer and the. Command Line installation switches. I need to find command line swich installation options for Adobe Reader XI. I have tried the customization wizard, but I am not sure how to proceed with the MST file that is created.
For Microsoft documentation, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Aa367988.

Use it only for the multilingual installer, and make sure that the corresponding language transform file exist in the setup directory. If /sl “LANG_ID” is not set and you are running the multilingual installer interactively (not silently), ‘Choose Setup Language’ dialog will be displayed. |
/msi[Command line] | Identifies the portion of CmdLine for additional MSIEXEC command line parameters. Everything following /msi is passed to MSIEXEC without analyzing and without any changes. |

Is there any official command line (switches) reference for the different versions of
Adobe (formerly Acrobat) Reader?
Adobe (formerly Acrobat) Reader?
I didn't find anything on Adobe Developer Connection.
Especially I want to:
- Start Reader and open a file
- Open a file at a specific position (page)
- Close Reader (or single file)

You can find something about this in the Adobe Developer FAQ. (It's a PDF document rather than a web page, which I guess is unsurprising in this particular case.)
The FAQ notes that the use of the command line switches is unsupported.
To open a file it's:
The following switches are available:
/n
- Launch a new instance of Reader even if one is already open/s
- Don't show the splash screen/o
- Don't show the open file dialog/h
- Open as a minimized window/p <filename>
- Open and go straight to the print dialog/t <filename> <printername> <drivername> <portname>
- Print the file the specified printer.

I use the following in a batch file to open the book I'm reading to the page I was up to.
The best list of command line args for Adobe Reader I have found is here.

It's for version 7 but all the arguments I tried worked.
As for closing the file, I think you will need to use the SDK, or if you are opening the file from code you could close the file from code once you have finished with it.
